About

Dave Wisner, Owner

“I have passion for attention to detail and commitment to creative problem solving — to optimize function, time, enjoyment, safety — for riders in all disciplines, equestrian property owners, and landowners.”

Dave Wisner has lived his entire life in Maryland, steeped in the region’s equestrian community and never far from his family’s six-generation dairy farm in Baltimore County.

A lifelong, ardent equine sport enthusiast and accomplished horseman, Dave was Huntsman with Mt. Carmel Hounds for 15 years during which time he worked extensively with landowners and hounds. He has ridden since childhood, and never missed an event with his own two daughters. Both evented through Intermediate and have dedicated professional careers in the equine world: one daughter is an equine veterinarian; the other is a certified equine therapist.

Dave earned his Civil Engineering degree from Virginia Tech and managed and worked his way up through the ranks in a large contracting firm to the position of vice president. In 2000, he started his own business — K & L Contracting — inspired to combine his construction and contracting experience with his love of horses and understanding of the needs of riders and equestrian property owners.

Dave draws on his engineering acumen and love for the land to troubleshoot and fix problems for his clients. He enjoys the artistry of fitting site work and structural solutions into the land, resulting in harmony of function and aesthetics.
